The authors also failed to mention that this minimum amount is comparable to the estimated costs of moving the U.S. energy system away from fossil fuels. Had the context of their analysis and overall framing of the issue been more fully explored, it would have been obvious why the Paris Accord was agreed to and supported by leaders of all but now one of the nations of the world.
