Some Observations from the Front Line of Climate Change

Because of Arctic amplification of temperature increases, the rise in Arctic near-surface air temperatures has been almost twice as large as the global average in recent decades. Connected with this, significant reductions in Arctic sea ice, land ice (particularly in the Greenland ice sheet), and permafrost have been observed in recent years.
